Monument to the Future

2011, site-specific installation, 40 x 40 x 260 cm

‘Monument to the future’ consisting of a structural element, a reinforced concrete pillar, located in Kibera, it is both symbolic, and somehow a pragmatic gesture. Symbolic, as it represents potential; the beginning of a structure that can be continued in the future. Pragmatic, as it is actually a functioning structural element, intended to be used and disappear into the framework of a future building.

The work ‘Monument to the future’ is organized and produced by the Goethe-Institut Nairobi and supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Kenya and Heron Hotel.
